Our Father is intentional about us living out our lives fully before Him for His glory. He has deposited in each of us gifting that He knows will uplift the body of Christ and also give Him glory. When God created you, Ephesians 2 verse 10 tells us that He created a masterpiece, and this masterpiece He created for good works before the world even began.
In Jeremiah 1 verse 5, we see God says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” God has set purpose in our hearts long before we were even born. He’s plan for you was always to prosper and not to harm you, also to give you hope and a bright future. Jeremiah 29 verse 11.
All of this is because our Father has intended that a life of purpose, lived fully to the hilt for Him was always going to involve using our heavenly gifting to bring about change. Change in our communities; change in our relationships; change in our immediate world, be it in our families or friends, and most certainly the people around us.
When we begin to understand that to live for Christ is not only a life of reward and fulfilment, and that sometimes it involves sacrifice. Sacrifice meaning, God will challenge your daily comforts to do His marvellous works of faith through you.
Perhaps you’re and evangelist like me and on occasion, you find yourself in the grocery store and feel led by Holyspirit to pray for someone based on a word God gives you for them or just a kind nudge from the Holyspirit, resulting in you praying with them and they receive Jesus as Lord of their lives with gladness also. Or perhaps you’re an encourager, you have the gift of encouragement and complimenting someone, not knowing they’re having a really tough day or week and your compliment changes everything for them. Maybe you have been gifted with the ability to create. A creativity to visualise and design creative spaces that people enjoy coming into, thus indirectly allowing them to experience the goodness of God in their lives. Or what if you’re even sensitive to people’s emotions and wellbeing and God has called you to be a counsellor or minister to be people during dark periods of their lives. Whatever it is and whatever the gifting God has given you. I want to encourage you to start using it to glorify your Father in heaven.
You fill find no greater joy in life than to use what God has given you for people! Its ultimately why we’re here right!?
In Romans 12 verses 6-8, the bible teaches us: [6] In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. [7] If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. [8] If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
The scripture is very clear here, showing that our gifting is for the body of Christ and to edify and uplift each other and in so doing, we become the salt of the earth and ambassadors for Jesus. My friend, I want to put it to you this way. You will never live a more fulfilling life, then that which Jesus has intended and destined for you, from the beginning of time. My prayer for you is that you know sooner rather than later, who God has called you to be and to know the eternal masterpiece He created when creating you.
Prayer.
Lord, I thank you today for reminding me of who I am in you and showing me who you have created me to be. I thank you father that I will walk out my life’s call and purpose with joy and gladness as I pursue and strengthen the gifting you have given to me in Jesus’s wonderful name. Amen.
